Spicy chilli set me to labour.

Counting down to my due date, I was craving for food based on what I saw and heard around me. Chicken rice, yummm… I specifically mentioned to my partner that I wanted nothing but chicken rice. The dish paired well with my aunt’s home made spicy chilli paste. My partner further toned down the spice with ginger blend. That night, the chicken rice literally cured my home sickness. As spicy as it can get, I thought spicy chilli could ease constipation. The next morning, I had continuous tummy ache, squeezing through diarrhoea-like pain with tears. In agony, I felt multiple pinches every three minutes in my tummy as I crawled into bath tub. 10 days away from due date, ‘labour‘ was the last thing on my mind. I rang the triage just to be sure. The next thing was I found myself calling my partner to ditch jungle gym with my 2 years old toddler. The spicy chilli has just set me to labour.
